Resident Incubation
The Resident Incubation Program at the Manipal–GoK Bioincubator (M-GoKB) is designed for startups that are ready to develop, test, and scale their innovations with full access to dedicated facilities. Whether you are an early-stage company with a validated idea or a team building your first prototype, this program provides the laboratory space, technical support, and business guidance needed to accelerate your product development and growth.
This is the ideal next step if your innovation is ready for structured experimentation, prototype refinement, market validation, and preparation for commercialization.
Who Is This Program For?
- Companies incorporated within the last 10 years and within the eligible turnover range
- Early-stage startups requiring dedicated lab and office space
- Innovators with a validated proof-of-concept or early prototype
- Research teams needing advanced scientific infrastructure
- Founders working in biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, med-tech, or related deep-tech domains
Program Duration
- Quarterly reviews to assess progress and continuation
- Standard duration: 12 months
- Extendable based on progress and approval from the IPC/PMC
- Milestones assigned at the time of onboarding

- Early-stage traction or pilot studies (for advanced teams)
- Functional prototype or minimum viable product (MVP)
- Technical validation and key experiments completed
- Clear business model and commercialization plan
- Market research and customer discovery
- IP filing (if applicable)
- Pitch deck and investor-ready documentation
Eligibility Criteria
- No major compliance, legal, or IP disputes
- Registered private limited company (Section 8 companies also considered)
- Company age less than 10 years
- Annual turnover below the permitted threshold
- Startup working in a domain aligned with the incubator focus
- Commitment to operate from the incubator premises
- Founders willing to participate in mentorship and review sessions
How to Apply
- Fill out the online Resident Incubation application form
- Submit company details, team background, and project summary
- Provide technical and business justification for incubation
- Application undergoes internal shortlisting
- Shortlisted teams present to the Incubation Program Committee (IPC)
- Final approval followed by onboarding and agreement signing
Fees & Plans
- Monthly workstation fees based on selected plan
- Lab access and instrumentation billed as per usage or chosen package
- Security deposit collected at onboarding
- Concessions for MAHE-affiliated founders, researchers, and eligible women-led startups (as per K-Tech norms)
- Monthly invoicing with 15-day payment period
Exit & Graduation
- Graduation upon meeting all milestones and achieving product or business readiness
- Early exit permitted upon written request
- Mandatory exit in case of inactivity, non-performance, or policy violations
- Exit triggered if company exceeds the incubation turnover cap or undergoes significant ownership change
- Graduated startups receive alumni support, networking access, and soft-landing opportunities
