Blackfrog Technologies Raises $1.7M to Advance Innovation in Medical Cold Chain Systems
Blackfrog Technologies has raised $1.7 million in Pre-Series A funding to scale its intelligent medical refrigeration systems for pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and clinical research. The round includes $1M from the Global Innovation Fund (GIF), $350K from Rainmatter Capital, and a $350K follow-on investment from MEMG.
Blackfrog’s flagship device, Emvólio, is already deployed across 800+ health centers in India, as well as in Nigeria and Kenya. With this new funding, the company will expand manufacturing, build a national commercial network, and launch three new cold-chain products by FY 2025–26.
“We’re building a pipeline of innovations that will broaden our cold chain portfolio beyond Emvólio,” said Mayur Shetty, CEO, Blackfrog Technologies.
“By next year, we’ll be deploying these products at scale — a major step toward our vision of becoming India’s market leader in medical refrigeration by 2030.”
This funding strengthens Blackfrog’s mission to deliver medical-grade cooling with real-time monitoring, regulatory compliance, and data-driven transparency for modern healthcare logistics.
Cambrian Bioworks Raises $1.45M in Seed Funding to Accelerate Molecular Diagnostics Innovation
Cambrian Bioworks (Cambrian Biotech Pvt. Ltd.), a promising biotech startup incubated at the Manipal–GoK Bioincubator, has successfully raised $1.45 million in seed funding, led by Kyra Ventures. This milestone investment strengthens the company’s mission to advance next-generation molecular diagnostics and accessible genomics technologies.
The funding round was secured through the dedicated efforts of founders Vaibhav Hegde and Rohit Asil, who have played a crucial role in shaping Cambrian’s deep-tech vision. The investment is expected to significantly accelerate the development of Cambrian’s automated molecular diagnostics platforms while enabling the expansion of their R&D capabilities.
This achievement follows the launch of Manta, Cambrian’s high-performance nucleic acid extraction system designed to deliver rapid, reliable DNA/RNA extraction for clinical and research applications. With this success, Cambrian is advancing its broader goal of enabling global access to liquid biopsy and targeted sequencing, two transformative technologies poised to change the future of precision healthcare.
